As I said in my question, I tried clicking on the three dots on the top right and clicking on Open in another app, but nothing happened — user I find it strange, in every cloud service there is the download function and then you can open it in Ibooks.

Thankfully, that changed a while back , and it's more than possible to download a PDF now. Tap it, and a separate Share Sheet will show up. So how do you save a PDF to the Books app?
